Meadow Saffron/Creatn Cistus (1851)

First published in 1845, "American Flora" by A.B. Strong was at the time one of the premiere collections of American botanicals. The collection documented the various uses of the plants, their introduction to the American landscape, as well as folklore associated with them. This series of botanicals is a fantastic example of how vivid prints with hand coloring can be.
